SCGC Presents Vision at APIC 2025, Driving Asia’s Petrochemical Industry Toward Future
31 May, 2025

20 May 2025 – SCG Chemicals, or SCGC, a leading integrated polymer and solutions provider for sustainability, represented by Sakchai Patiparnpreechavud, Chief Executive Officer and President of SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited, shared the vision on “Building a Sustainable Future: The Role of the Chemical Industry in a Transformed World” at the Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference 2025 (APIC 2025). The event was held under the theme "Ensuring a Transformed World Prosperity," reflecting the vital role of the petrochemical industry in driving economic growth, enhancing quality of life, and promoting a sustainable future. Organized by the Petrochemical Industry Club, Federation of Thai Industries, APIC 2025 took place from 15-16 May 2025 at Centara Grand at CentralWorld Bangkok, welcoming over 1,500 petrochemical industry delegates from across Asia and around the globe. At the event, SCGC showcased innovations, solutions and technologies designed to create a better world under the concept of “ProsperWorld,” promoting sustainability and multidimensional development through its Low Waste and Low Carbon approaches. Sakchai Patiparnpreechavud, Chief Executive Officer and President of SCG Chemicals or SCGC, shared his vision at APIC 2025, saying, “Currently, the petrochemical and plastics industry faces multiple challenges. A key priority for the industry is to enhance its competitiveness by developing high-value-added materials and technologies, alongside greater responsibility towards the planet. Plastics play a critical role in driving global sustainability, given their versatility in meeting megatrends for both daily life and industrial applications. Additionally, plastics have a relatively lower life-cycle carbon footprint compared to other materials. Therefore, developing innovations to enhance the efficiency of plastic resins, such as making them lighter and more durable, will further help reduce carbon and resource consumption. In addition, a key factor that will help drive economic growth, enhance quality of life, and promote future sustainability is the establishment of a circular economy to manage and recycle used plastics. This requires collaboration from all sectors throughout the value chain — from industrial manufacturers, policymakers, consumers, to researchers — to transition the world towards sustainability alongside the practices of low waste and low carbon.

“WINDSOR” Introduces Thailand’s First Low-Carbon Vinyl Doors and Windows, Elevating Future Sustainable Living, And Launches ‘WINDSOR Replacement Solution’ Offering Quick Installation for Renovation Market
31 May, 2025

Bangkok – 14 May 2025 “WINDSOR,” the market leader in vinyl doors and windows and a subsidiary of SCG Chemicals, or SCGC, continues to enhance living standards for a sustainable future by pioneering the development of Thailand’s first low-carbon vinyl door and window innovations. At the recent Architect'25 event, WINDSOR launched the "WINDSOR Replacement Solution," targeting the renovation market. This innovative solution allows new frames to be installed directly over existing door and window frames, enabling quick installation. WINDSOR also presented a comprehensive lineup of vinyl door and window products and solutions, such as the "Ultimate Protection" range, designed to maximize protection against noise pollution, PM2.5 dust particles, heat, and leakage. Krit Bunnag, Managing Director of Nawaplastic Industries Co., Ltd., part of SCG Chemicals, or SCGC, said, "WINDSOR is dedicated to elevating living standards for a sustainable future, responding to changes in line with future lifestyles. We innovate and develop solutions that integrate functionality and design with environmental friendliness. We have taken another significant step forward by developing Thailand's first low-carbon vinyl doors and windows, utilizing an innovative pre-cut manufacturing process. This unique production method, specifically designed by WINDSOR, enhances the assembly efficiency of vinyl doors and windows and achieves zero waste in the process. As a result, this approach conserves energy and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by up to 290,000 kilograms of CO2 (kgCO2) equivalent to planting over 34,000 trees annually.* Our products have earned the SCG Green Choice certification, as well as the Carbon Footprint Product (CFP) label and the Carbon Footprint Reduction (CFR) label from the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO), aligning with our vision, 'Windsor for Sustainability.'"

SCGC Showcases Medical Innovations and Circular Economy Collaboration at SiCOE Forum 2025
31 May, 2025

SCGC is participating in the "SiCOE Forum 2025 x SDGs" by showcasing its medical innovations and circular economy initiatives. SCGC is hosting an exhibition in collaboration with the Siriraj Hospital Center of Excellence on the lawn adjacent to the Prince Mahidol Adulyadej Monument from April 22nd to 24th, 2025. At this event, SCGC is showcased under the theme “SCGC: Plastics for Better Living and a Better Tomorrow.” The exhibition highlights the role of plastics or polymers in everyday life, supporting megatrend growth and meeting diverse application needs. It also presents the concept of plastic recycling and the tangible promotion of the circular economy. Leveraging its expertise in materials science and polymer formulation, SCGC collaborates with various sectors to transform medical waste into high-quality new products for reuse. Examples include recycled PVC tiles made from dialysis solution bags, a joint effort with Principal Capital Plc (PRINC) under Principal Healthcare, Baxter Healthcare (a pharmaceutical and medical device company), and Dynoflex (a manufacturer, distributor, and installer of vinyl flooring materials). Additionally, recycled plastic bags are produced from dialysis solution gallons in collaboration with Praram 9 Hospital and Wake Up Waste, a platform for managing the buying and selling of recyclable waste, along with a compactor truck that enhances transportation efficiency. Furthermore, SCGC is showcasing Medical & Well-Being products that leverage innovative plastic or polymer applications to elevate the medical sector. These include user-friendly and safe sharps containers, Varogard high-performance medical face masks capable of filtering particles sized 2.5-0.1 microns with a Particle Filtration Efficiency (PFE) of over 95% (quality tested by the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital), and smart medication carts designed to meet the needs of medical personnel. The exhibition also features a hemorrhoid ligator, a technology aimed at improving patient care.
